The OTU is currently preparing a submission to the Pacific Games Council to include Paralympic Taekwondo for the 2027 Pacific Games to be held in Tahiti.
Following on from the magnificent achievements of our Oceania Paralympic athletes at the Paris 2024 games, the OTU believes that it has a strong case to include Paralympic Taekwondo on the Pacific Games program in 2027.
The immediate challenge is for our member nations is to begin preparing and developing paralympic athletes in readiness for the 2027 Pacific Games to be held in Tahiti and for the 2028 Olympic Games to be held in Los Angeles.
The OTU will announce its Paralympic Development program and other paralympic initiatives in early 2025 in order to assist Paralympic athletes and to help member nations in identifying and developing potential paralympic athletes.
The OTU with the assistance of the Oceania Paralympic Olympic Committee, aims to deliver the highest quality Taekwondo programs and competitions for athletes with a physical impairment through the implementation of effective development, training, education, competition initiatives.
Member nations who have identified paralympic athletes or who need assistance in doing so, should contact the OTU so that we can co coordinative relevant programs as early as possible.
