OCEANIA TAEKWONDO RECEIVES COACHING GRANT

Oceania Taekwondo is 1 of only 10 Oceania sports that were successful in obtaining a grant to support regional coaches to attend the 2025 Coaching and Officiating Conference will take place from the 18 to 20 March 2025 2025, Geelong Australia.

Solomon Islands para coach Ms Lilian Selena was successful in her application with financial support coming from the Australia Sports Commission (ASC), the Organisations of Sports Federations of Oceania (OSFO) and Oceania Taekwondo Union (OTU). Tonga’s coach Mr Paula Sitapa was also supported to attend via the OTU.

Theme: Connection – emphasising the importance of connecting people with different perspectives, lived experiences and knowledge, collaborating for the betterment of community sport.

Audience: Community coaches, officials, academics, leaders and administrators from state and national sporting organisations and government agencies.

The conference aims to provide a platform for learning, discussion, and collaboration, bringing together diverse perspectives, lived experiences, and knowledge. This platform will enable participants to explore innovative approaches, share best practices, and co-create solutions to embed the modern approach to coaching and officiating in community sport.

This is a fantastic opportunity for community-level coaches and officials throughout the Pacific to network, learn new skills, and further develop as leaders in sport. Oceania Taekwondo hope that Lilian and Paula gain much experience from this conference to pass on to members within the National Association.
